SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – AT 10:51 P.M. ET: MISUNDERSTOOD – The FBI arrested an 18-year-old man, Adel Daoud, for trying to detonate what he thought was a bomb outside a Chicago bar. The man is apparently devoted to jihad and had been provided with a fake bomb by undercover agents . Let us try to understand this man's frustrations, which are related to American imperialism, global warming, changes in Medicare benefits, and the inconveniences caused by the Chicago teachers' strike. If you want to look at the real cause here, look at CHENEY (!!!!). PRETTY PLEASE – Sudan has rejected plans by the U.S. to send additional Marines to our embassy in Khartoum, after 5,000 Sudanese peacemakers and scholars attacked the embassy. While the Marine issue is discussed with the Sudanese government, the U.S. ordered all family members of diplomats and non-essential personnel to leave several Mideast post. This is a tribute to our president's influence in the Muslim world. THE BUMP IS GETTING BUMPY – Gallup, which had Obama seven points ahead only a few days ago, now has him four points ahead. Obama's lead in several polls, bumped up by the hype madness of the Democratic convention, is shrinking. It is too early to measure any effect of the Mideast crisis. September 15, 2012 |
