NOVEMBER 29, 2009 NEW YORK (AP) -- The couple who crashed President Barack Obama's first state dinner are peddling their story to broadcast networks for hundreds of thousands of dollars, a television executive says. The executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the network does not publicly discuss bookings, told The Associated Press that representatives for Michaele and Tareq Salahi contacted networks to urge them to ''get their bids in'' for an interview. The executive said the Virginia couple was looking for a payment in the mid-six figures range. They could also write a book entitled, "How to Go Through Life Without Any Class Whatsoever."
NOVEMBER 28, 2009 TAIPEI (Reuters) - A man in Taiwan was robbed of more than $2 million in cash that he had just withdrawn from the bank, a police official said on Tuesday. Three masked gunmen robbed the 50-year-old victim on Monday afternoon in the southern city of Tainan, logging the highest-value robbery in city history with a heist of T$77 million (2.39 million), said a police investigation official surnamed Chang. Why would a man withdraw two million dollars in cash? That's the interesting part, and the story never deals with it.
