PETERBOROUGH, England, July 6 (UPI) -- A rare Lamborghini Gallardo automobile burst into flames as stunned bar patrons in Peterborough, England, gaped at the spectacle, witnesses said.  The bright orange 2005 Lamborghini was thought to be one of only 400 of the Italian sports cars in Britain, and was worth $122,000, the Daily Mail reported Monday. The British newspaper said the vehicle caught fire outside a nightclub Sunday as two men, believed to be test-driving the car, jumped out when smoke billowed from its engine.

This is quality?  This is what you get for $122,000?  When's the last time you saw a Chevvy Malibu burst into flames?

(AP) Police said a 72-year-old woman woke up to discover a 27-year-old man dressed only in underwear trying to get into her house. A police report said the man was booked on burglary early Sunday.  The report noted the man appeared to be under the influence of an illegal substance, talking oddly and acting nervous.

We have no standards left.  A man visits an older woman and doesn't even dress properly.  This is all because of BUSH (!!).

RIGA (Reuters) - Ready to give your soul for a loan in these difficult economic times? In Latvia, where the crisis has raged more than in the rest of the European Union, you can.  Such a deal is being offered by the Kontora loan company, whose public face is Viktor Mirosiichenko, 34.  Clients have to sign a contract, with the words "Agreement" in bold letters at the top. The client agrees to the collateral, "that is, my immortal soul."

Not available to Hollywood agents or political campaign consultants.

(AP) A New York Police Department rookie just couldn't wait to get started. One of the NYPD's newest officers has made his first arrest just minutes after graduating from the Police Academy in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says 23-year-old Officer Dariel Firpo is "off to a great start."  A police spokesman says Firpo was leaving Thursday afternoon's ceremony when he saw a 79-year-old man being robbed of his wallet and thrown to the ground by a mugger in midtown Manhattan.  Police say the mugger tried to run away but Firpo caught him without incident. They say he's being charged with robbery.

Wait.  We haven't heard the defense lawyer yet:  "An over-eager, ambitious police rookie with no experience accosted my client..."
